Jo (Mrs de Carteret) is a Fellow of The Victorian Artist’s Society and is the Past President and Committee Member of Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors. She coordinated Art at Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College for twenty years. Jo is now giving greater attention to her own painting.

In 2005 she commenced Jo Reitze paints your garden. Since then she has completed numerous garden paintings on commission. In 2013 Jo Reitze was selected as the Whitehorse Artspace’s Invited artist. Her exhibition, The Artist’s Gardens, in Whitehorse Artspace depicted aspects of her Surrey Hills garden over 25 years.

Recently Jo has been in demand as a judge, adjudicating The Marysville Art Show 2016, The Strathdon Uniting Age Well, Box Hill Artists’ Society, Noble Park Community Art Shows in 2017 and Whitehorse Arts Association in 2019.

In 2018 Jo was invited to teach at both The Victorian Artist Society and Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre. She currently teaches at VAS on Thursday mornings. Jo also successfully ran a gouache workshop for The Friends of The Royal Botanic Gardens in November 2018 and another for Emerald Art Society in May 2019.
