Since my earliest memories, I’ve engaged in drawing and painting. The essence of my artistry is fuelled by the environment around me, memories and a deep-seated desire to express emotion.
I find potential in every scene as a subject for my art, drawn irresistibly to the interplay of colour and light. The vibrant use of colour by David Hockney, alongside Scottish artists Scot Naismith and Alexander Goudie, has profoundly influenced my work.
The creative spirit of my parents nurtured my early passion, yet it was only later in life that I pursued formal studies in Fine Arts as a mature student.
Expressing the significance of painting in my life is challenging, yet I recognise an intrinsic need to engage with my art. Living what feels like a dream, I paint regularly, striving for growth and new insights with each piece.
My artistic journey has been a doorway to meeting individuals with a generous spirit, encompassing both fellow artists and art enthusiasts. It has inspired me to venture into hidden gems and develop a deeper appreciation for the familiar landscapes around me.
